Jim Peeler
Manager, Silviculture and Research

Jim is responsible for silvicultural research, planning and technology transfer on all RMS managed lands. He joined RMS in 1993 as a forester, responsible for managing Hancock Timber Resource Group (HTRG) lands in eastern North Carolina. Two years later, he earned promotion to Region Manager for HTRG lands in North Carolina and southeast Georgia. In 2000, Jim moved to Birmingham as Silviculturalist on the dedicated HTRG Account Team. In that job, he oversaw silvicultural planning and technology transfer for all HTRG lands managed by RMS across the South. He moved to his current post in 2006. A Registered Forester in Alabama and North Carolina, Jim holds  a B.S. degree in Forestry from N.C. State University and a M.S. degree in Forest Management and Economics from Virginia Tech.
